Amanda and Bo | Port Moody Wedding Photos

Last May, I flew out to visit my friend Brianne in Port Moody. We spent the weekend hanging out, shooting a styled shoot together and I was her second shooter at a wedding. The wedding was at Camp Howdy and was only 10 minutes from Port Moody. As we drove down to Camp Howdy, we went though lush green forest and I couldn’t believe how tall the trees were. I’ve been to BC many times but you kind of forget how big the trees are compared to the ones in Alberta. The venue was like a log cabin and had massive windows all around it. I absolutely love windows! You get so much natural light in the building and you can over look the lake through the windows as well.

It of course ended up raining  in the afternoon and I should have expected it being on the coast of BC. The rain doesn’t stop a wedding though, you pick up the umbrellas and keep going. Amanda and Bo’s family and friends were so nice and very welcoming as well. We ended up sneaking out during the reception when the rained stopped to do a few photos overlooking the lake. The wedding was great and it was great shooting a wedding with Brianne as well. To see more of Brianne’s work from Brianne Adams Photography, Click here!

The next day after Amanda and Bo’s wedding, we were doing our styled shoot. Before we headed back to Brianne’s place, we stopped off at Tim Hortons and bought a ton of Timbits to make our cake for the shoot. Which was a great ending to the day too! Click here to see more from Brianne and I’s styled shoot at Buntzen Lake!

Below is a few photos from Amanda and Bo’s wedding!

Melissa + Andrew | Hastings Lake Gardens Engagement

HASTINGS LAKE GARDENS ENGAGEMENT

Melissa and Andrew decided to do a Hastings Lake Gardens Engagement from one of my recommendations on places. I adore Hastings Lake Gardens  because it is very different then other locations in Edmonton. It’s a 30 minute drive outside of Edmonton but worth the drive to this spot. It’s usually very busy in the Summer but I liked getting to see it in the Winter, where it was just us. I got to met Melissa and Andrew’s adorable pup Ryder. Who was just as excited to meet me as well. Melissa and Andrew had decided to first get Ryder because Andrew works out of town right now. We started off at the castle part and included Ryder in these photos. He was so good and would look right at me for photos…for the most part 🙂

I had so much fun wondering around the gardens with these two. They kept each other close and wrapped their arms around one another to keep warm on this snowy day. They both had huge smiles while looking at one another during photos. They are so in love and it shows in these photos. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding this coming September!

Lucas | St.Albert Newborn Photos

Everyone was so excited to find out if Ashley and Dave were having a boy or a girl. On December 13th at 3:07am,  Lucas made his arrival. He Weighed in at 6lb 5oz. He is just so sweet and loved being wrapped up for photos. We incorporated one of Dave’s jerseys into the photos. I am sure he will definitely be playing soccer in the near future, with his mom and dad both loving soccer. We used a few Christmas props for Lucas’s photos and Dave lit a fire in the fireplace for the family photos. Everything went so great and I can’t wait to watch this little guy grow up! Welcome to the world Lucas!

Cassidy + Scott | Ponderosa Point Resort Wedding

Cassidy and Scott had their Ponderosa Point Resort Wedding with all of their closest friends and family. Almost every cabin at Ponderosa Point Resort was filled with their loved ones and the tent for their reception was in the middle of the cabins. Ponderosa Point is in Kaleden, which is a small and picturesque town close to Penticton. Everyone came down for the weekend and got to celebrate throughout the weekend with Cassidy and Scott. Everyone was on vacation time and took the time to slow down and enjoy every minute of their weekend. This gave everyone time to mingle and celebrate with the couple for the weekend.

Cassidy and Scott first met while traveling in Thailand. Then they continued their relationship when they got back to BC after Thailand. The rest is history now! It had been raining the day before their wedding but the sun was shining on their special day. Cassidy and Scott just relaxed the morning of their day and played a little bocce ball down by the lake. Their ceremony was absolutely breath taking. They had one of their good friends marry them, the sun was shinning and everyone that was their was smiling. Absolutely perfect! We spent a little time around the resort taking photos of the four of them. We would mingle with their friends as we went around the resort taking photos.

After photos, it was time for their reception! They had canned goodies on the tables for everyone to take after the wedding. Anyone who left the reception and didn’t take theirs, then got scooped up by other guests. The speeches were very memorable and had everyone at the reception laughing the entire time! Everyone hit the dance floor for the rest of the night and it was absolutely full the entire time! I had such an amazing time with everyone and loved meeting everyone that was there!

Thank you so much for allowing me to be apart of your day! I am so grateful I got to see the two of you say your “I Do’s” and I wish you both all the happiness in the future!

Erin + Ryan | Morinville Wedding Photography

Erin and Ryan first met while working out at World Health. They would end up walking on the treadmills beside one another while getting to know each other. One day they ended up walking and chatting for over 45 minutes. That was the day Ryan asked Erin to go out for dinner and their first date. Which they ended up chatting for many many hours while out on their first date. This is how Erin and Ryan’s love story began. I was so excited to be apart of their special day. I knew it was going to be a great day when I first walked into the house where the girls were getting ready. I could hear the laughter and excitement from all the girls.

These two had an intimate ceremony with the sun shinning through the windows. Everyone had a smile on their faces and were thrilled to be apart of their day. After the ceremony, we headed to a few different locations. Their bridal party was a blast to hang out with and were up for anything….especially to just have fun! Erin and Ryan are always have the biggest smiles on their faces when they look at one another. You get to spend the rest of your life with this person and go through so many ups and downs. You need someone who makes you smile and who you can have fun with.  Erin and Ryan have it down.  I LOVED getting to spend the day with them and all their family and friends!

All of the bridesmaids helped put together a slideshow for the couple. They asked Erin and Ryan similar questions and videotaped their answers. Throughout the slideshow, parts of the videos would come on and telling their love story, along with photos of the two of them. I had never seen this done before and I thought it was so unique! Erin and Ryan’s answers were so loving for one another. My favorite part of the slideshow was Ryan had said “I’m just so happy to grow old with her”….so sweet!

Thanks again for letting me be apart of your special day! I wish the two of you all the happiness in the future together!
