Jessica + Marco | University of Alberta Engagement Session

We started their engagement session back where these two got started. Jessica and Marco had their first date at Cafe Sorrentino‘s on 97 street. We then headed off to the University of Alberta. Jessica isn’t originally from Edmonton and so I made some suggestions for locations. Jessica and Marco went out one day to check out the locations and the U of A was the one they wanted. Probably had to do with the beautiful arts building that is on campus.

These two are so cute together. They would just look at one another and kiss each other forever if I didn’t tell them we were moving spots. They changed into a second outfit and they laid out a blanket to sit on under a tree. Marco took out his guitar and started singing to Jessica. I absolutely love these photos under the tree! I am so excited to see these two tie the knot next summer!

Ashley + Tristan | St.Albert Grain Elevator Wedding

I was pretty excited to shoot Ashley and Tristan’s St.Albert Grain Elevator Wedding after we did their engagement session. These two were so amazing to work with and I loved seeing how loving they were towards one another at their engagement session. Like almost every Saturday this year there was a chance that it could rain. The rain held out until after their ceremony at the grain elevators. As Ashley walked down the aisle to marry the love of her life, their daughter shouted out Mommy as soon as she spotted her. It was so cute! We stayed at the St.Albert Grain Elevators after the ceremony for a little bit to take photos before leaving for our next location.

We headed to Johnny’s Store which is a little rustic convenience store outside Morinville. Which also happens to be near a field where Ashley and Tristan had their first date quading. This bridal party had me laughing the entire day with them. They were so much fun to work with and they just enjoyed having fun taking photos. Making silly faces, telling jokes and they kept Ashley and Tristan laughing the entire time with them.We made a few stops taking photos on the way to the reception in Cardiff. We ended the photos at their friends farm to take a few photos at the end. The best man, Sean had a particular photo he really wanted to do. I am always up to do something fun if someone has an idea!

The reception was beautifully decorated and matched their entire day. I have to say hands down that everyone’s speeches were some of the best I have ever heard. The maid of honour, Chelsea did her speech in a rap and had the entire bridal party in on it. Ashley and Tristan are definitely perfect for each other and I loved getting to be apart of their amazing day! It was a perfect day!

McLeod Family | Buena Vista Family Photos

I met the McLeod family last summer when Addie was born and I was shooting her newborn photos. Now she is officially one and she has sure grown since I saw her! She loves Elmo and her puppy and kept them close while we took family photos. Addie would even offer to show me one of them but not for long because she likes holding onto them. I don’t think I have ever met a little girl who LOVES dogs more then her. We were at Buena Vista Park taking family photos and it is also a dog park. She would just light up whenever she saw a dog walk by her…which at this dog park was a lot! A nice stranger even held her dog behind me and those photos turned out to be my favourite! Addie was smiling and giggling the entire time she saw the puppy behind me.

I had a great time seeing these three again and getting to see little Addie again. If you would like to see her newborn photos click here!

Now onto see the beautiful Fall photos of this wonderful family!

Julie + Michael | Shaw Conference Centre Wedding

I met Julie many years ago while we were both serving at a local restaurant. I was very honoured when she asked me to photograph her wedding day! Julie and Michael met one night out for dinner with friends. Julie’s friend she worked with introduced them the night they went out. The rest is history now! I met the girls at Julie and Michael’s home to do the getting ready photos. The girls were helping one another get ready while drinking mimosas. I absolutely loved their robes they all had one and especially Julie’s. Loved that Julie’s robe had “Wifey” on it!  After getting ready we all headed to the Shaw Conference Centre to see these two tie the knot!

We headed down to Louise Mckinney park after their ceremony to take some photos. Part of the park was under construction but we made the best of it. After taking a few fun photos with the bridal party, they headed back to the reception. I was able to step back to let them just have time to breathe, time to celebrate being husband and wife…. Even if it was just for a few minutes. Time so many couples don’t get because of the busy-ness of their day. Julie and Michael look at one another so lovingly. You can just tell how happy these two are together with one another!

We cut taking photos pretty close to when these two had to make their grand entrance into their wedding. The room had a ton of natural light coming through the wall of windows and also a patio deck everyone enjoyed though out the evening. The speeches were very heartfelt but also had everyone cracking up and laughing. Especially Michael’s best man Frank, who had everyone stand up and raise their hands above their head. Then took a photo as evidence of everyone on their feet and looking like they were clapping after his speech. Everyone was very confused until he explained it… after he took the photo of course! After the first dances, the three of us snuck out to go take a few photos during the sunset. Turned out to be some of my favourites from their wedding. The rest of the evening was filled with dancing, laughter and fun!

Thank you so much for having me at your wedding! I loved every minute I got to spend at your beautiful wedding and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you!

Stacey + Garrett | Calgary Carriage House Wedding

Calgary Carriage House Wedding

I don’t know where to even start. Stacey and Garrett had the most incredible wedding and were surrounded by their family and friends. Their ceremony and reception were held at the Carriage House Inn where Stacey works. I love that she works at the hotel because I think it makes it that much more special that they held their wedding there! I myself love the Carriage House Inn because I have probably stayed there more times then I can count. Every time we would drive up to visit my grand parents, we would stay at the Carriage House Inn because it was very close to their house.

Stacey and Garrett met online and had their first date at a restaurant. Garrett was so nervous about meeting her for the first time that he ended up going a couple hours early and a couple of drinks to help. The rest is history now because they are married. I loved how the ceremony was set up on the hotel. It made for a very intimate ceremony.

The weather was a bit odd the day of their wedding. It was very cloudy all day and then it would start to rain and then stop. Then rain. Then stop. We were going to head to a park for photos after the ceremony but headed downtown instead. The Bay downtown Calgary has a great spot that is covered and your able to take photos under it. I think it worked out for the best!

I love how these two look at one another when their wrapped up in each others arms. Especially on their wedding day and looking at each other with so much love. Their wedding party kept me on my toes and we were constantly laughing at the goofy faces. They also were a huge help in blocking off the pedestrians walking downtown so they wouldn’t walk into Stacey and Garrett’s photos.

The decor at the reception was absolutely stunning at the reception. Glass vases with flowers and candles on every table, all purple candy at the candy bar…which include the couples favourite candy to share with everyone. Adorable white couches for every one to lounge on and chat though out the evening. It was beautiful and everything was perfect for their wedding! Loved their Calgary Carriage House Wedding! Every Minute!

Thank you so much for having me at your wedding and I am beyond grateful I got to be apart of your first day as husband and wife! Scroll below to see more photos from their beautiful day!
